Supper @ Shanghai Ding ........

Last week my 2nd BIL... treated us to supper at this dim sum restaurant at Bayan Bay, Penang......we were having a quick meet up with a cousin sister, and her 13 year old son Gene..from Bangkok which I had seen for the first time. Her mum, my aunt... which I had seen a decade ago was also there........

Family gathering over dim sum................

Cousin Mary....her son Gene....and aunt from Thailand....

I was quite full on the stomach after eating my sister Nancy's Mee Jawa at her place....Oops ! forgot to take some pics of my sister Nancy's nice mee jawa.......was greedily eating away.....but I took some pics of our supper here in Shanghai Ding.......me not eating much but just being the photograher of the day.......

Cute Pockey Mouse.........guess what is this.....?

Sister Karen wanted to share this with me.....and she told me it had salted eggs in the fillings.....so when I cut it into 2 halves......it really looks like salted egg with the egg yolk in the centre.....but when I bite into it.....it is NOT salted egg but ...Pau with sweet custard fillings......!

A dim sum cannot go without these lovely steamed meat dumplings.....it is not as big as those in Dragon-i but is still taste good enough at a price of rm 6.80 for a four piece set and rm 12.80 for eight pieces...

Ginger and black vinegar to go with the meat dumplings...

Shanghai Pot stickers...meat and prawn dumplings pan fried.... my favourite...at rm 3.80 (3 pcs)

Prawn dumplings at rm 4.80 for 3 pieces.........

Crab/Prawn dumplings......at rm 4.80 (3 pcs)

Roasted BBQ buns or Poh Loh Pau....at rm 2.40 for two......

Pan fried Radish cake ...at rm 3.80..........

Delicious Mango Pudding....at rm 3.00...........

More updates will be coming up when I try out more of their food at another of their outlet in New World Park............

kok - everyone was taken in with the cutie pockey....it is nice and soft pau with a not too sweet custard cream...but it is a bit small for a pau.....you can just pop the whole mouse into yr mouth...ha.ha..

Hi Sweet Jasmine, I've never seen that pau look like a rambutan, ha ha. But the others sure look delicious.
I love your lala, one of my all time favourites...anything with clams I like.
Your family very lucky with you a gourmet cook.
Happy cooking, Jasmine, Lee.
